The Miami University-Oxford Human Capital Management and Leadership program offers a Bachelor of Science in Business degree focused on preparing students to lead organizations effectively by focusing on their most important asset: people. The program aims to equip students to navigate the complexities of attracting, developing, and retaining top talent to drive sustainable competitive advantage.

Students will develop comprehensive knowledge and skills in areas such as understanding organizational behavior, effective leadership of organizations, teams, and individuals, human resource management and development, change management, employee engagement and motivation, human capital consulting/people advisory, and strategic management.

The curriculum covers comprehensive aspects of people development and management. Coursework is recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and extends beyond traditional learning by integrating client projects with external businesses. Key courses mentioned include MGT 303 Human Resource Management, MGT 304 Diversity and Cross-Cultural Management, MGT 415 Leadership and Learning, MGT 474 Human Capital Consulting, and MGT 495 Executive Decision Making & Strategy. There is a high demand for experts who understand how to help companies engage and keep their best talent. Graduates are prepared for a wide range of roles including human capital consulting, human resource management, people analytics, leadership, and management. Examples of job titles include Human Resources Manager, Compensation and Benefits Manager, Human Resources Specialists, Management Analysts, Training and Development Managers, and Compensation, Benefits, and Job Analysis Specialists. Increasingly, C-suite roles such as Chief Talent Officer, Chief Human Resource Officer, Chief Diversity Officer, and Chief People Officer are dedicated to Human Capital.
