Key learning outcomes include the ability to strategically champion the role of HRM, comprehend major legal theories and policies, design and implement core HR functions (job design, recruitment, selection, retention, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, HRIS, people analytics), and effectively respond to organizational opportunities through analytical thinking, problem-solving, ethical awareness, communication, and teamwork. The program provides hands-on experience in its Human Resources Information Systems course using SAP Success Factors, the same technology used by many large companies globally.

The program prepares students for professional certifications. It offers preparation for the aPHR Certification Program and provides the opportunity to pursue HRCI Certification Upon Graduation. Students are mentored by faculty like Rod Lacey, founder of Sunstone HR Consulting, known for extensive industry experience and an exceptionally high HRCI student pass rate.
