Human Resources Degree Program at Marion Technical College

The Human Resource Management option is available within Marion Technical College’s Associate of Applied Business (AAB) Management program. This option is designed to help students develop knowledge and skills for practical application in the field of Human Resource Management (HRM).

Students will learn how to work effectively with diverse groups of employees, gaining proficiency in key HRM functions such as recruiting, staffing, compensation and benefits administration, training and development, and talent management.

The program utilizes an 8-week course format, where each semester is divided into two sessions. This structure allows students to focus on fewer classes at a time and potentially complete the program requirements faster compared to a traditional 16-week schedule.

Designed as a two-year full-time degree schedule, the program offers flexibility and can also be completed on a part-time basis. The curriculum incorporates a mixture of management, core business, computer, and communication courses, with a strong emphasis on management practices relevant to various organizational settings.

Upon completion, graduates are prepared for various career opportunities, including roles such as Benefits Specialist, Employment Specialist, Human Resource Generalist, Human Resource Assistant, Payroll Specialist, Training Coordinator, and Employment Recruiter.

Application requirements include submitting an MTC Application, final high school transcript (or GED results) and college transcripts (if applicable), and demonstrating college-readiness through a placement test, required foundation courses, or other measures.

For inquiries, applicants can contact the Admissions Office at enroll@mtc.edu or by calling 740.389.4636.
