Human Resources Degree Program at Utah State University

The Master of Human Resources (MHR) program at Utah State University’s Jon M. Huntsman School of Business is recognized as the “Top HR Program in the West”. This unique, skill-based program is designed to prepare both current and aspiring HR professionals. It focuses on equipping students to navigate the global economy, become strategic, ethical leaders, and significantly impact corporate performance.

Through the curriculum, students acquire essential skills in attracting, motivating, and developing a productive workforce within today’s competitive business environment. The program highlights its world-class faculty as a key component in preparing students for success.

USU offers the MHR program in two distinct formats:

  • The On-campus MHR is a 37 Credit, 18-month full-time program completed over 4 semesters, including an internship. This format also includes an international trip and offers Dual Degree Options, including MHR & MBA, MHR & MMIS, and MHR & MDATA.
  • The Professional MHR is a 36 Credit program designed for completion in 1 to 2 years on a part-time or full-time basis. This format is delivered 100% online and includes an optional international trip.

A key outcome emphasized by the program is career readiness and placement. Graduates and students are actively recruited by local, national, and international companies for both summer internships and full-time positions.
