Clark University Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development

The **Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development** program at Clark University is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage and develop an organization’s most valuable asset—its people. This program combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications to prepare students for a variety of roles in human resource management and organizational development.

To earn the B.S. degree, students must complete a total of **32 units of credit (128 semester hours)**. The curriculum is structured into four main categories: Major area courses, courses meeting Distribution Requirements, Elective courses, and a Capstone course.

The Major focuses on specializing and deepening academic and professional knowledge in the subject area. Students pursuing the bachelor’s degree must meet with an academic advisor. Transfer students are welcome and may transfer up to **16 course units** toward the bachelor’s degree.

Key Student Learning Outcomes for the major include **Human Resource Management Proficiency**, **Organizational Behavior Analysis**, **Effective Communication**, **Leadership and Decision-Making**, and **Ethical and Legal Compliance**.

The **Capstone course** serves as the culminating experience, allowing students to demonstrate their professional competencies and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world issues. Students work with their advisor to choose from various Capstone options, practicing skills in collaboration, analysis, problem solving, research, writing, and professional presentations.

All B.S. candidates must complete **11 course units** to meet the liberal arts Distribution Requirement, designed to provide perspectives essential for contributing citizenship. These units are distributed across categories such as **English/Verbal Expression** (two units, including courses like **ENG 1000** and **ENG 1150**), **Humanities** (three units, including ethics), **Science/Mathematics** (two units), **Social Sciences** (three units), and **Technology** (one unit).
