Human Resources Degree Program at Friends University

The Friends University Human Resource Management program leads to a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree. It is designed for students who desire a degree providing a wide range of business skills and opportunities for challenging work as HR management professionals, preparing them to be strategic and tactical within their organizations.

The curriculum is designed by practicing Human Resource professionals and is based on the educational framework provided by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) Curriculum Guidebook.

This is an accelerated program delivered over 77 weeks of instruction. Classes meet one night per week for four hours, with students studying one topic at a time to allow for full concentration.

Admission requires sixty-two (62) semester hours of transferable credit from accredited colleges or universities, completion of Writing 1 and 2 or equivalent with a “C” or better, and earned credit in a college math course (specifically **College Algebra** or a higher level math class with a ‘C’ or better required for graduation).

The degree requires a total of 124 hours. This includes 83 credit hours covering the major and general education requirements. The core HR and business requirements total 46 hours, featuring courses such as HRMT 310 – Managing Human Resources from a Strategic Perspective, HRMT 350 – Employment Law, HRMT 366 – Total Rewards: Compensation and Benefits, and the capstone course, HRMT 490 – HR Capstone: Current Issues in Human Resources Management. An additional 37 hours are allocated to General Education requirements.
