Human Resources Degree Program at Florida International University

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resource Management program at Florida International University (FIU) is designed to equip students with the skills needed to cultivate a better functioning workforce and handle critical HR tasks. The curriculum focuses on developing interpersonal skills and creative approaches to assemble and manage employees effectively.

The program prepares students to plan, recruit, and select the best talent, design and evaluate training programs, and implement best practices for performance review, feedback, and disciplinary actions. Program Structure & Curriculum

The BBA program requires a total of 120 credits, consisting of 60 credits of lower division coursework (including business pre-core courses) and 60 credits of upper division coursework. The upper division credits include business core courses, human resource management courses, and upper division business electives. A grade of "C" or higher is required in all Human Resource Management courses.

Core Human Resource Management courses include:

  • MAN 4301 Human Resource Management
  • MAN 4320 Recruitment and Staffing
  • MAN 4322 Human Resource Information Systems
  • MAN 4330 Compensation and Benefits
  • MAN 4350 Training and Development
  • MAN 4410 Union-Management Relations

Students also select one course from options like MAN 4102 Managing Diversity, MAN 4610 International Human Resources Management, BUL 4540 Employment Law, or MAN 3100 Happiness at Work, plus additional upper division business electives.

An Online Option is available for the BBA in Human Resource Management.
